Government offices, clubs, stores, ninnberlcss restaurants, offices, and lints were affected, but the street lamps remained alight owing to the duplication current. . ■ Several operations were going on m a number of hospitals. The dressers swiftly lighted the emergency acetylene lamps, and the surgeons completed the operations.
