FORBURY SCHOOL
QUEEN CARNIVAL When the concluding ceremony of the Forbury School bazaar and queen carnival was held in the St. Hilda Coronation Hall on Saturday evening there was a large attendance present to witness the crowning of the queen. Miss Iris Gordon, who represented Standards I. If., and HI. and the infant classes. The queen, preceded by her heralds and accompanied by her three maids of honor—Misses Jessie Leslie, Jean Mill, and Valeric Jacobs—marched in procession the length of the hall on to tho stage, where she was received by the “Lord Chancellor,” Sir B. W. Hall, Mayor of St. Hilda. Miss Thelma M'Miliau then crowned, the queen. . During' the ceremony several gifts were handed up’to Miss Gordon and her maids of honor. The gathering concluded with a programme of musical, elocutionary, and dancing items, to which the following contributed:—Song, Miss Eager; Mrs Harrison, songs; Miss Netta, Pullar, dance; Master D. Todd, recitation; Mr G. Christie, cornet solo; Miss M'Curdy and Mrs Harrison, dialogue. Mr Souness acted as accompanist, and an orchestra (Mrs Harrison and Misses White and Paterson) rendered several selections during the evening.
