Kn route from London, tho New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Riroutaka left Southampton on Thursday. The vessel is due at Wellington on December 21 to land passengers and mail for New Zeaalnd, Afterwards she will unload general merchandise _at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Napier. Tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Kia Ora arrived at Auckland on Thursday from Wellington to - complete loading refrigerated and general cargo for Canada and England. The vessel is to be despatched at daybreak on Sunday for Halifax (Novia Scotia), London, '■Avoumouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow. The City of Lyons is reported to have sailed from New York on Saturday with cargo for discharge at New Zealand and Australian ports. To L. D. Nathan and Company’s agency the Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Mahia reached Auckland from Townsville on Friday night. She berthed this morning to discharge tho local portion of her cargo_ of South African maize. The remainder is for Wellington. After completing discharge at Wellington tho Mahia is to load at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Bluff. Lyttelton, and Dunedin for Lender. via.Punta Arenas. The Royal Mail liner Aorangi arrived at Vancouver from Auckland yesterday. Tho vessel is scheduled to sail next Wednesday on tho return voyage to Now Zealand and Australia. She is scheduled to reach Auckland on December 4 and Sydney on December 9. A wireless message received by Henderson and Macfariane, Ltd., Horn the American steamer West Ivan states that she expects to arrive from San Pedro at Wellington this morning. The vessel is bringing lumber, case oil, and general merchandise from Pacific Coast ports for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Poolta was duo at Clarence River to-day to commence loading hardwood timber for New Zealand. The vessel will complete loading at Port Stephens and Newcastle. She is expected to clear Newcastle next Monday for Wellington, Timaru. Dunedin, and Greyraouth. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that tho A. and A, Line’s chartered steamer Tremeadow will probably arrive at Dunedin to-morrow from Timaru. The vessel has a quantity of general cargo and case oil from Now York for discharge at this port.
The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Pioneer arrived at Auckland on Thursday' morning from Montreal and Newport News. She has general merchandise for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timani. and Dunedin. The vessel is expected at this port on November 20. Messrs Turnjnill, Martin, and Co. advise that the steamer Australind arrived at Auckland late on Thursday night from New York. The vessel, which is under charier to the A. and A. Lino, is to leave the northern port on Monday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dnneclm to discharge the remain der of her American cargo. She is duo hero about November 24.
A wireless message received by the Union Company from the captain of the Kekerangu states that the vesel will arrive in the lower harbor about 7 a.m. to-morrow from Adelaide. The Kokorangu, which is bringing South Australian products, is to sail on Tuesday for Lyttelton, Wellington. Castlecliff, New Plymouth, and Auckland to complete discharge. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rernnera, which arrived at Lyttelton on Tuesday morning from Wellington, is to sail to-day for Timani, Port Chalmers, and Bluff', to discharge and load at each of the three ports. From Bluff the Ronmera will go to Wellington for further loading, and is due there on November 22. Sbo will proceed from Wellington to Napier, Tokomarn Bay, and Auckland, and is to sail finally, from Auckland on December 10 for Southampton and London via Pitcairn Island and Panama Canal. • A London message dated October hi staled that the. German barque Gustav, hound from the Bailie to Melbourne, bad put into (Queenstown with, water in tier hold and sundry deck - and sail damage, the result of a storm. The Gustav is a four-masted barque of 2,525 tons, in command of Captain Scbutt. TON GAB IPO ARRIVES. With a cargo of iron and steel goods and a largo quantity of general merchandise from West of Great Britain ports, the steamer Tongariro arrived at Dunedin last evening after visiting the ■'■northern ports. The Tongariro loaded at Glasgow,' Avoiiniduth (Monmouthshire) , ' Bristol Channel ports under the auspices of the Federal Company, and Liverpool, and sailed finally from the last-named port on September 17. Fine weather prevailed, for the trip across the 1 Atlantic, and the steamer reached the Panama Canal on October 1. After taking on oil fuel the Tongariro cleared Balboa on October 3. Good Weather continued for the remainder rj the voyage until October 23, when a strong northerly' wind rose and delayed the vessel’s arrival at Auckland by a few hours.' However, the voyage as a whole was a fast one, the average speed. • being . 13J- knots.
