MAYPOLE FAIR
Cakes, sweets, fancy goods, and produce were for sale at the Maypole Fair, held iu the Caversham Methodist Church Hall last evening. .Mr D Cameron, vice-president of the Methodist Conference,- opened the sale, and, in doing so, said thta the artistic arrangement of tho stalls and the decorations reflected credit on the ladies concerned. The stall-holders arc ; Work Stall.—Mcsdames Campbell, Wills, and Young. Fancy Stall. —Misses Coatsworth and Samson. Cake Stall.—Mcsdames Carrington, Gain, and Nixon. Ice Creams.—Mrs Lee. Sweets. —Mcsdames Vickers, Neilson, and Paine. Produce Stall.—Mr SmyU'e. Boys’ Stall.—Mr Hammond. Apron Stall.—Mrs Dalton. A feature of the evening was the queen competition. There were twentytwo competitors, and tho successful candidate will he crowned to-night, when the fair will be reopened! The proceeds will bo given to tho trust fund.
