MACMILLAN EXPEDITION EXPLORATION PROGRAMME ABANDONED CONTINUING SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATIONS. Press Aswdation—By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, August 19. (Received August 20, at 9.15 a.in.) Tho Macmillan expedition has abandoned hope of carrying out the full exploration programme in 1925. Activities have been curtailed by the ice and fog, which locked the northland earlier than usual. During tbo winter season tbo explorers will proceed to carry out the other objects of the expedition, including scienitlic investigations fromEtah. The change of plans was announced by tlie National Geographic Society after Captain Macmillan had advised that it was “ impossible ” to continue the project of establishing an advance base at Capo Hubbard.—Reuter.
