FAMILY TRAPPED BY FIRE. [Pee United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 11. When five broke out early this iponning in a two-storied house in Ferry road, occupied by Mr A. E. Stevens, he, with'his wife and their two children, had a narrow escape. Mr Stevens was forced to jump from, a window on to the roof of the verandah, with one of the children in his arms. They were awakened by the smoke, and had no time to dress.
