BALMACEWEN TENNIS CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Balmacewen Tennis Club, the Chairman (Mr S. N. Brown), in analysing and proposing the adoption of the report (which stated, inter alia, that the B grade won the banner), congratulated the section on its continued and growing progress. Its membership was full, and the playing qualities were improving with every season, as was evidenced by the success achieved both in tournament and interclub matches. He hoped that the younger members would be encouraged in every way to improve their play, as from their ranks would come the future champions. To further this ho would be pleased to offer a competition trophy. As one of the founders of Balmacewen Club, he was proud of its success in its three branches of recreation, and that it afforded the residents of Maori Hill a field of sport which all appreciate. The tennis section had’ proved prosperous and progressive from tlie start, and he only regretted that the playing area (three courts) was not large enough to justify the committee accepting the members ottering for membership. He trusted the section would go forward "in making the Balmacewen Tennis Club rank first, both in its piav and its social features. I’he following office-bearers wore elected.—Vice-president, Mr b. N. Brown, sen.; secretary, .Mr A. M'Millan; General Committee—Messrs L. Crigg, H. Balk, W. Seymour, and N.
