(Received January 17, at 11.15 a.m.) One hundred and fifty Salvation Army converts, in order to demonstrate their penitence, cast their idols into a bonfire in a brazier in ono of Aberdeen’s busiest streets before thousands of spectators. Tho fire was fed with a continuous supply of pipes, tobacco, cigarettes, powder puffs, playing cards, and cards bearing the names of other idols, including horse-race Petting, theatres, kinemas, prize fighting, sensational novels, and whiskv drinking.— A. and N.Z.
