(Received January 17, at 10.30 a.m.) Mr Howard Houlder, senior, who is sixty-five years of age, and was once a millionaire ship owner and ship broker, has filed a petition in bankruptcy. His unexpected failure has caused a sensation in the City. It is the result of reverses iu industrial ventures during the last four years. His failure in no way affects Howard Houlder and Partners, Limited, or Houlder Brothers and Co.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
