HUMPHRYS—AI AT HEWS,

A very quiet wedding was solemnised in First Church, Dunedin, on June 4, by the Rev. J. .Simpson, Port Chalmers, when Miss Catherine A. Mathews, youngest daughter of Mr and Airs J. Mathews, of Rosenenth, was married to Mr J. Humphrys, eldest ..son of Mr and Airs J. Humphry's, of Townsville, Queensland. As the bride entered the church on tho arm of her father, Wagner’s ‘ Wedding March ’ was played by the organist, Dr Galway. The bride wore a white satin frock with radium lace, which was-caught at the waist with silver tissue flowers and leaves, with streamers of silver ribbon; sho wore a veil of mob cap fashion, which was caught at each side with orange blossom, and carried a beautiful bouquet of white chrysanthemums with asparagus and maidenhair fern. Her bridesmaid, Aliss M. Erridgc, wore a charming coral crepe do chine frock, which was caught at tho sides with flowers and gold leaves; she wore a bat to match, and carried a beautiful bouquet of henna shade chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. The best man was Air AY. Erridge, Mendelssohn’s ‘ Wedding .March ’ was played as tho bridal party left tho church. The wedding breakfast was held at tho .Strand. The happy couple were the recipients of many handsome presents and cheques from friends in New Zealand and- Australia. Later they left by motor en route for Auckland. For travelling the bride wore a navy blue, cant frock, beautifully beaded and braided, mole shade coat trimmed with fur, and hat to match.
