A GIANT AXEMAN
The giant Australian axeman “Bill” Peck, who stands 6ft 7in high, and turns the scale at 17st, will give exhibitions at Bert Lewis’s athletic stadium on the Dunedin Showgrounds. Peck is credited with winning the world’s championship no fewer than four times, the New Zealand championship three times, and the Australian championship three years in succession j he also holds all the world’s records in white pine timber up to 2ft. Ho has been known to cut through a lOin log with only nine blows. Other members of the combination consist of Harry Sandow (New Zealand champion heavy-weight wrestler), Athol (the Australian strong man and wrestler), and young Peter Bannan (the Lancashire wrestler). _ There wrestlers challenge all-local champions to ftqy -flaiwatsa Jfith them.
