“A Lover of Sport” writes us:-—“I beg to draw your attention to an incorrect statement in Saturday’s Sports Edition. It is stated that Air Fraser Smith, of Hamilton, last year furnished the runner-up in the Waterloo Cup. The runner-up was Jolly Tar, bred, owned, and trained by the well-known coursing man Mr Wm. Jackson, of Southland.”

[Last year’s fixture was an Australasian Waterloo Cup, and the runner-up was Jolly Tar. But on the occasion of the last New Zealand Waterloo, which was held in 1920 at New Plymouth, Mr Fraser Smith’s Malster was runner-up.—Sporting Editor E.S.]
