ST. KILDA COUNCIL

, The ordinary meeting of the St. Hilda Borough Council was held 1 last evening and was attended 'by the mayor (Mr J. , W. Dove) and Crs 11. Telfer, S. Garbutt, 1 H. M. Seddon, E. Ross, R. M. fiercer, J. Adam, E. Longworth, P. Carolin, and J. Stenhouse.

Mr W. Hielop wrote asking that the holes in Bay View road adjacent to his property he filled in. Portions of the ropcl were considerably below the level, and large pools of water collected in wet weather. Iri connection with this matter, the town clerk of Dunedin wrote stating that the road would receive the necessary attention. “ Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P., wrote stating that both Orders in Council authorising the rate of interest on the borough council’s antecedent liability loan had been gazetted on August 14.—1 t was decided to thank Mr Sidey for the prompt manner in which ho had supplied the information. The Secretary of the St. ■ Hilda Fire Brigade wrote applying for the use of Alexandra Park on October 21 for the purpose of holding .the annual competition. The secretary also applied for the council's usual donation of trophies'.'—lt was decided to grant the trophiqrand the use of Alexandra Park on the diate named, and for training purposes at any time, with the exception of Saturday afternoons, until the close of the football season. It was decided to decline the offer of Mr W. Hi gginson relative to the purchase of his section adjoining the council's yard in Scott street.
