MONTHLY MEETING. Air E. C. ITazlelt presided yesterday afternoon at the meeting of the committee of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society. Messrs Thomson and Co. wrote suggesting an alteration in the classes at the annual horse show. After consideration the matter was referred to the Horse Committee to report, after the annual meeting of the society. Mr J. Dirties wrote offering a fat bullock for tho, guessing competition at the Winter Show, which was accepted with thanks. In connection with tho ram and ewe fair. Air Arthur Johnson offered suggestions towards facilitating the. handling of stock sent forward for sale. After consideration the matter was referred to the Slice]) Committee to confer with the Stock Agents’ Association. The secretary .of the Otago Producers’ Cool Storage Company wrote offering to take charge of the butter and cheese for the Winter Show. —Resolved that a letter of thanks he forwarded to the company for its generous assistance. Marshals and class stewards for the forthcoming Winter Show were duly nominated. Nominations for officers and committee for the forthcoming year wore submitted : President: On the motion of Air Edgar C. Hazlett, seconded by Air James Smith, Air D. Andrew was unanimously nominal ed. Vice-president: On the motion of Air D. Andrew, seconded by Air H. C. Campbell, Air George Black was unanimously nominated. Members of committee: Dunedin— Messrs Edgar C. Hazlett, G. R. Ritchie, J. Beg", W. Turnbull, and A. APKay; Taieri —Air T. J. Gawn ; Waihemo—Mr W. O. APKellar; Bruce, Clutha, Tuapeka—Messrs 11. AI. Driver and W. Murray. Judges for the various sections at tho Winter Show were duly nominated. The following new members were proposed and elected:—Afessrs T. Afoir (Clarksville), J. Plank (Dunedin), W. J. Weir (manager Omimi Dairy Factory), W. E. J. Hall (manager drain's Bay Dairy Company), and' J. Walker (manager Tomuka Dairy Company). Owing to private business reasons, Air H. V. Fulton tendered his resignation as secretary of the society, which was accepted with regret.
On the motion of Air Arthur Johnson, seconded by tho chairman, it. was resolved to write to the various A. and P. Associations in Otago with a view to holding a conference during Winter Show Week.
