HOURS SEVERELY RESTRICTED,

The Government’s Licensing Bill has been introduced into the House of Commons. The measure applies to the whole of Groat Britain, and provides that the earliest hour at which liquor shall be procurable shall _be 11 in the riming, and the latest 10 in the evening, except in tho metropolis, where the latest hoar shall b® 11 o’clock.
The hours during which bars may remain open arc limited to eight per day in the provinces and nine in London. Meals with drinks can be ordered on weekdays in London between 11 o’clock and midnight in hotels and restaurants, and U and 11.30 in licensed houses and clubs. The Central Liquor Control Board is abolished, and its property is transferred to the Home Secretary and the Secretary for Scotland, who are empowered to continue the board’s scheme of State management of the liquor traffic.—Reuter.
