The bank rate is 5A per cent.-—A. and N.Z. Cable.

[The bink rate was reduced to 6] per cent, on April 28, and to 6 per cent, on June 23. Prior to April 23 it had stood at_7 per cent, for over a year. Its lowest point during the war yearn was 5 per cent., but that rate prevailed for long periods, including the whole of 1915. Tn 1916 the average was £5 9s 3d, in 1917 i 4 was £5 3s, in 1918 £5, and in 1919 £5 3s. In 1913, tho year prior to’ the war, the average was £4‘lss sd, and in 1912 it wan £3 15s sd.]
