Works Committee have decided to improve the ladies' retiring rooms in the tea house, this improvement to be effected in time for the June races, and the architect is instructed to prepare plans for alterations to the tea house a* a whole, these to be carried out during the winter. One idea is to have the serving counter in the centre, thus avoiding a block in time of rush. It is ako decided to obtain plans for the proposed rebuilding of the stewards' stand. The intention is to place this stand between the inside totalisator and the fence abutting on the course proper. The birdcage will be shifted so that it will be between the outside and inside enclosures. Patrons of the outside enclosure will not then require to ooma along the course to look into the birdcage when the horses are being paraded. To enable the stewards' stand to come in between the totalisatorhouse and the front fence it may be necessary to shift the totalisator back a little towards the railway side of *the course.
