ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
Mr Win. Charles Chambers, a retired railwav servant, who resided at 34 Leckhampton Court, Caversham Rise, collapsed and died last night while sitting with his wife in a tram car at the Caversham terminus. He was 64 years of age, and it is understood that, as deceased had suffered for some time from heart trouble, an inquest will not be necessary. At the inquest regarding the death of George M'Kent, who was found dead at Waijtakere (Auckland) on Monday with a gunshot wound in his head, evidence was given that deceased suffered from a severe attack of influenza about Christmas, and never recovered thoroughly. A verdict was returned that deceased died as the result of a gunshot wound in the head, self-inflicted while he was in a state of mental depression. 4
