Mutton is advanced id per lb all round. Lamb is practically unchanged. The New Auditor-General’s annual report utters a stern warning against pseudo prosperity and lavish expenditure as an outcome of the war. The swing back of the pendulum will be severe, and it behoves us to make preparation for leaner days ahead while there is time.
It is anticipated that the New Zealand system will be adopted in connection with tire scheme for compulsory subscriptions to the war loan.
