A Press Association message from Wellington states : Mr W. H. Hanger, Conciliation Commissioner in the Wellington district, is to have charge of tlio Canterbury and Otago districts. He will be succeeded here by Mr W. Newton, who has just been appointed to the vacancy caused by the death of Mr J. li. Triggs, of Ghi'istchurch. The remains of Mr C. Parata, M.P., are to be interred at Puketeraki on Friday afternoon. The body is being brough't from Wellington this evening. The Presbytery of Cl-utha have sustained the call by St. Andrew's Presbyterian congregation, Wellington, to the Rev. S. Robertson Orr, of Milton.
