VARIOUS AVAR QUESTIONS. LONDON, April 26. (Received. April 27, at 12.35 p.m.) In tho House of Commons Air Steel Maitland (Under-Secretary' for the Colonies) said tho Government were aware that Australia was preparing to assist in settling ox-soldiers on tire land, but they did not know whether the scheme would be available for ex-sailors or ex-soldiers emigrating from Britain. AH Bonar Law announced that tho Budget would be delivered oh May 2, when a -credit vote would also be sought. A secret session would b© held the following week. Air Law added that the Government welcomed the Russian Government’s recognition of the independence of Poland. Britain would assist Roland to realise her national aspirations. Air J. I. Alacpherson (AVar Office Undersecretary) stated that the embargo on tho ‘ Nation ’ would bo raised if the editor (Air Alassingham) submitted all its war articles to the Censor. Lord Robert Cecil (Foreign Under-Secre-tary) stated that Germany, through a neutral Sovereign, had verbally applied to obtain Prince Karl’s body for burial in Germany, but Britain had replied that this was impossible at present.
