There has been rain in England on 23 days out of 24 days in August. For trie last 30 hours it has been unceasing. The ■wheat already harvested will be unfit for milling for several months.
HAY CROPS ABANDONED

Owing to the disastrous floods in tha Midlands the farmers in Yorkshire ar« abandoning their hay and allowing the villagers to fetch it for pigstye bedding.
Salisbury Plain, where 10,000 men are encamped, is waterlogged.
