Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.
LONDON, August 25. (Received August 26, at 9.15 a.m.)
The fusing of a wire in a test box at the General Post Office, St. Martins-le-Grand, paralysed thousands of other boxes, causing a loss of power that interrupted communications both_ inland and on the Continent. Temporary emergency measures prevented the complete isolation of London, but it is feared it will be a week before the normal service is restored.
LINES RESTORED
LONDON. August 25. (Received August 26, at 11.15 a.m.!
The wires are rapidly repairing, and there will be a full and efficient service tomorrow.
