ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.

An Auckland message states that a, child 20 months old, daughter of Mr C. Lloyd, was playing with its young brother on a swing at Karangahake. In the temporary absence of the latter it was caught in the rope and was strangled. A very painful accident occurred to a young man named Walter Allott yesterday shortly after 5 o'clock (says the ' Mataura Ensign'). Allott, with others, was returning from work, and while riding down the Ardwick street hill Lis bicycle collapsed, and Allott was thrown heavily on his head. He sustained a severe wound on tho side of his head, and lie was unconscious when picked up. During the night he became conscious for short, periods, and this morning was progressing as satisfactorily as could be expected.
