NEW LAUNCH FOR HENLEY

I Mr Amos M‘Kegg has lately ordered from Messrs Miller Bros., Port Chalmers, \ a screw launch to run on the river from ■ Henley to the mouth. The launch will be ' 60ft long by 13ft 4in beam and sft deep. It will be decked, and fitted with an awning and comfortable scats to accommodate about 180 passengers, and provision will also be made for fifty passengers below deck. Kauri, Oregon, and hardwood, with some steel frames, will be used in the con--1 struction of the hull. The motive power ■will be an oil engine of 30 horse-power, which will give a speed of about eight knots. The drawings have been supplied by Mr Walter Gotten, naval architect, who designed the present launch (Waiwera), which has been in. commission for over twenty years.
