A London cable advises that the personality under the will of Dr Saumarez Smith,' the late Primate of Australia, was sworn ufc £16,013, of which the estate in Great 'Britain represents £14,183. The property 'is loft to the children in equal shares. The late Primate, in his will, states that during l his lifetime he devoted ns much of his income as he could afford to cl lari table objects* and therefore ho could make no bequests in that direction. Mr T. Brown (Brown, Ewing, and Co.) returned to Dunedin yesterday, after an absence of nineteen months in the Old Country. Captain Glare, C.M.G., Naval Commaudant of South Australia, is at present; on a visit to Dunedin.
The ‘ Olutha Leader ’ states that Mr William Cniickshank, of Manuka Island, died suddenly on Monday evening from heart disease. The deceased., hose age was seventy-three, had been in the Dominion for about, forty years. He lived in the Oumarn district for a considerable tame.
Mr Henry J. Baker, at present residing in Dunedin, can get his New Zealand, medal for which his services in the Maori War entitle Elan by applying to the Mayor of Port Chalmers, Mr D. A. Do Mans, to the medal was forwarded by Mr E. H. Clark, M.P., who recently undertook to procure the medal for the veteran.
