Tt?l' C or^s Committee recommend: that a gas Jamp be erected in Waverkv street South Dunedin Ward. Tiiat a gas Jamp be erected in Atkinson street, South Dunedin Ward. That the sum of £62 6s . to Messrs Webb and Allan for sufficient depth of laud to admit of Cargill load, between Baker and Law streets, and between Law street and the couth-eastern corner (Parksade) being widened to 35ft from the centre of the road. That the tender of Messrs' W. Hargreaves and Son for the supply of horses, carts, and drivers tor Cavexsham and South Dunedin Wards for the period ending 31st March, 1910, be accepted as follows: —Double teams, 14s fed per day; single teams, 10s 8d per day. The Maori Hill Borough Council have been advised that the Council are not disposed to undertake the field work and the designing that would be entailed before any consideration can be given to the proposal to extend Pitt street, either m a direct line or by detour to the Town Belt load way ; but that the Committee will be glad to receive plans, sections, and details indicating the various means of living effect to the project. ” The Water Committee recommend that the tender of Messrs A. and T. Burt for the supply and delivery of cast-iron hatch hoses for water mains, for the sum of £■352, be accepted. The General Committee report that nine applications for carriage-drivers’ licenses, and fifty-four applications for expresswaggon drivei-s’ licenses, against which the police have no objection, have been granted. One application for an expresswagon driver’s license has been granted "ith a caution. One application for a car-riage-driver’s license has been declined. The Electric Power and Lighting Committee recommend that the following tenders for the supply of motors for the tunnel at Waipori be accepted: —The National Electrical and Engineering Co., Ltd., two 25 h.p. motors at £72 each; the United Electrical Construction Co., Ltd., one 5 h.p. motor at £2B. The Finance Committe recommend that Mr David Duncan be appointed acting city valuer for the whole of Greater Dunedin during the absence on leave of Mr J. R. Morris, city valuer, and that the city treasurer furnish Mr Duncan with such assistance as he may require from time to time.
