WELLINGTON, September 25. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Percy H. Breirly, one of the principal witnesses for the prosecution in the tote betting case against William Scott last week, was fined 40s and costs for betting tote odds with Scott at Riccarton on August 14. The information was laid by William MiHer, describing himself as a "bookmakers clerk."
