The Wanganui Education Board (states a Feilding message) re-elected Mr F. Pirarii chairman at last evening's meeting. Mr Alex. Wilson, M.A., has accepted the position of editor of the 'New Zealand Times.' He takes up his new duties in January, 1907, and has therefore intimated k> the Board of Governors his desire to be relieved of his duties as rector of the Boys' High School' at the close of the present session. Mr Wilson is a fine English scholar, a polished writer, and a man of brilliant attainments and acute intellect. Although he has had little direct experience of newspaper work, ho has more oi less been associated with journalistic work, and by many of his qualities he is eminently suited to fill the position for which he has now been chosen. Mr Wilson will be missed greatly in local literary and educational circles, in which for many years he has been a prominent figure. Especially will the Shakespeare Club be a loser. Mr Wilson has been thirty-two years in the service of the High Schools Board, during which period he was for ten years English master at the Boys' High for eleven years rector of the Girls' High School, and for the same period rector of the Boys' High School.
