DUNEDIN SUMMER MEETING. The Dunedin Jockey Club’s summer meeting will be held at Wingatui on Boxing Day, Friday, 26th, and Saturday, 27th. The train arrangements in connection with the meeting are fully advertised. Leonore and Lolah both incur a 71b penalty in the Dunedin and Hack Handicaps for their wins at Christchurch meeting on Saturday. Red Gauntlet has been scratched for the Federal Handicap, and Sarchcdon for the Hack. Acceptances and general entries are due on Friday. CYCLING. AUCKLAND, December 16. Major Taylor, the famous American cyclist, who is a passenger for Sydney by the Ventura, says the question whether he will race in New Zealand depends on details, to be settled on his arrival at Sydney. SWIMMING. The following team have bean picked to represent Sydenham (Christchurch) in the interprovincial water polo match at Dunedin on Saturday, December 27:—Goal, 0. Schneider; three-quarters—P. W. Olliver, Charles Kent; half-back, Arthur Brunsden; centre forward, J. 0. K. Sibbald; forwards—Angus N. Russell, R, E. HaJl; emergencies—W. H. Howison, E. Gill, W. Peryer. The team are much stronger than those pitted against the local club last year. The Christchurch men will be under the management of Mr Charles Kent, and will arrive "in Dunedin on Christmas Eve. .A final selection of the local team will be made to-night.
