ELECTION EXPENSES.
Of the five candidates -who contested the CSty seat at the recent General Election, the returning officer has so far been supplied with a return of the expenses incurred by Messrs Bedford and Chisholm. Mr Bedford’s expenses total £157 18s fid, made up as followsßent of halls, etc/ £3l 17a 2d; committee rooms, £l6 6s• advertising and printing, £9l 8s 3d; other expenses, including clerical work, £lB Bs. Mr Chisholm’s expenses are put down at £lO2 7s 4d," made up as follows -Hire of rooms, £39 17s 10d; advertising, £23 6s 6d; printing, £11; clerical work, £25 10s • stationery, £2 13s. - ’
