MELBOURNE, February 15.
The Paciiic Cable Board have advised Mr Barton that the Queensland, New Zealand, and Fiji section of the Paciiic cable will be open for traffic in April or May, hi stead of June. It is also anticipated! that the Canada-Fiji section will be ready in August or September, three months inside the contract time. Mr Barton states that the Eastern Extension Company’s attitude in regard to the Cape cable is so unsatisfactory that negotiations will have to start de novo.
