[Pbb Uxeeed Pbkss Associatiox-] WELLINGTON, February 13. David Dick, charged with arson at Greytown, in whose case the jury had already disagreed, again came before the Court to-day. He pleaded guilty, and the Chief Justice ordered him to come up for sentence when calld on. M. Edonard Glasser arrived from Sydrpy to-day to study on behalf of the French Government the application of our labor lawn. In regard to the mining iwflastry, he will visit all the principal mining centres, and then make a similar tour of observation in Australia. At the Supreme Court Andrew Peterson, for cattle-stealing, was placed on probation for eighteen months, and Thomas Reardon, for assault and robbery, was sentenced to two and a-half years' imprisonment. AUCKLAND, February 13. Sir Joseph Ward remains in town to-day, and goes to Onehunga to-morrow to open the new post office there. NAPIER, February 13. Harry Edward Dennett was sentenced to one year for assault and robbery. Thb completed the criminal business.
