OUR MISMANAGED TRAMS.

TO THK BDITOn. Sir, —Just a word in connection with the tram system in Dunedin. Can anybody with one atom of common sense tell me why the Corporation allow such absurd overcrowding of cars as at present exists on all routes in this fair but primitive Dunedin? It is perfectly monstrous. There is no need to particularise. All must be aware of it; all are; all don't care—seemingly, because, 1 presume, they have never seen beyond their own noses, except a few who were not brought up in the midst of such ancient habits. Nowhere in any civilised country is such a state of things tolerated, and why Dunedin people should put up with it I do not know. Oye Dunedinites! who are fools to yourself, I ask you where is your humanity, your consideration for dumb animals, as well as for the lesser animals, yourselves?—l am, etc., An Outsider. February 5.
