MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The All Nations Lodge, U.A.0.D.. held (heir regular meeting in the Friendly Societies' Hall, Currie street..-Port Chalmers,' on Tuesday, the A.D.. Bro. Sanders, in the chair. There wax a large, attendance. A piano which had been recently purchased is a great addition to the pleasure of the meetings. Three new members were initiated. An official visit was received from the officers and members of the Ivanhoe Lodge, accompanied by P.O. Presidents Bros. Havmes. Wvnn, and Hutchison. No. 19 'District.' also P.D.P. Bro. Butler,- No. 1 District. Otago and Southland District President Bro. Blissard attended officially for the purpose of installing P. A. Bro. W. Manning, of the All Lodge, into the office of District President- for No. 19 District, for the ensuing twelve months. After the ceremony the lodge went into harmony, the following contributing:—Bros. Leth'aby. Smith, Hay ward. J. S. Gibh, But. ler, Haymes, Cowan, Wyrni. Walker, Holden, Blissard, Moss, and Driver (songs). Bro. Flaymes was accompanist, and Bro. Harland gave a recitation. Dnring the evening votes of thanks were given to Bro. Blissard (the installing officer), the officers and members of the Ivanhoe Lodge, and Bro. Butler and the Lily of the Valley Lodge. Receipts, £SB 15s. The meeting closed with cheers for the new D.P., Bro. W. Manning. 'Hie Star of Freedom Lodge, held their fortnightly meeting in the. Oddfellows' Hall, Roslyu, on Wednesday, Bro. Whale occupying the chief templar's chair. The. lodge were favored by a visit from Bro. Follis. Motmt Pleasant. Vancouver, Canada, who gave an interesting address on the progress of temperance in the various parts of the globe he had visited. Bro. E. Sell was elected regular and Bro. Whale alternate representative to the Grand Lodge session, to be held at Nelson at Easter. Sis. Freeman was unanimously elected pianiste for the current quarter. It was decided to make nest, meeting night an open pound night, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the "lodge. The lodge then went into harmony, the following contributing items :—Bro. Tilv (autoharp solo). Bro. Porter (recitation). Sis. Freeman (piano solo). Sis. Henderson (recitation). Bro. Scoullar (song). The customary vote of thanks to the visitors was responded to by Bro. Tilv (Hope of Caversham). Bro. Barnett (Lily of the Valley), Bro. Birrell (Hope of Diinedin). and Bro. Follis (from Canada).
