THE OAMARU SHOW.

[Special to the Star.) OAMARU, November yf. There is excellent weather for the show. The judging is proseeding slowly. Cattle and sheep are the principal classes judged today. In Ayrahires the local breeders Bogerson and Fleming are fighting a duel with Cowan, and so far as it has gone points are all in favor of the fi truer, who secured the first six out of the seven first classes, and seem to have a mortgage on Jne cup. The other cattle classes are no. judged, but competition therein will bo very poor. There is a poor show of thoroughbreds. Earoclydon boat Cajolery for the entire championship; Ma Belle, by St. Clair— Tangi Maid, beat MissUtlley for dry mares. The draught horses are large and of an excellent class, but they will not be judged till to-morrow.

Sheep are the feature of the shew, jin fine combing merinoes John Reid takes most awards, with F. H. Smith a good second. The former has both champions. In strong combing, so far as is judged, W. Gardiner and A. M ‘Master are dividing honors fairly evenly. The championships are not yet awarded. Border Leicesters constitute a very strong class,: in which Little Bros, and J. S- Holmes are tfie principal exhibitors. Tho former Ippjt like securing the principal award, and will probably win the cup. In English Leicesters Donald Grant is the only exhibitor, with the same sheep as were shown in Christchurch. In Lincolns the N.Z. and A.L. Company and J. S. Holmes are the principal exhibitors, the former gaining the bulk of the awards, and will probably take the oup. John Reid is the only exhibitor of Rompey Marsh, and secures the red ticket in all septiops. Aitken, Beth Smith, and Ypung, local breeders, take all the awards for Shropshire Downs. There is no competition ’ for shorn fat sheep. The sheep generally, are In good condition, and have wintered well. In dairy produce Mrs W. Gardiner takes first and the cup, and Miss Mitchell second. There js an. excellent show of implements, but the exhibits in ptfier classes are small, and are only of local interest.
