Quite an epidemic of cycling seems to have come over the pitmen of Northumberland (England). In a pit village in that county of over 9,000 people the clergy now find it impossible to get up a cricket club, so devoted are the pitmen to the wheel. Seven gentlemen accidentally met in Marton the other day*. Their average height was over 6ft, and average weight within a fraction of 16 atone.
