THE MACANDREW STATUE.
TO THB KDITOB, Sir,— When passing through the Triangle to-day I heard an onlooker say to Mr Munro: " Man, Geordie, there'll be a grand gaitherin' o' folk frae far and near when the statue is unveiled." "There ocht to be," Bays "Geordie," "but I hear very little aboot it." It should not be so. No doubt the Amenities Society, friendly societies, bands, High School boys and girls, and the citizens generally, are making arrangements for a demonstration worthy of the occasion, and that special trains will be run to bring the country folks, but, as the genial "Geordie" says, "little is heard aboot it "—I am, etc., W.B. Dunedin, June 26.
