MUNICIPAL.
— —— St. Kilda.— This Council met on Tuesday evening; present The Mayor and Crs Stenhouse, Mitchell, Daly, and Allan. There were no objections to thcrolls. —Theinspector was instructed to fill in the ditch near Mr A. P. Foley’s house.—The Tramway Company wrote stating that they had no objection to the borough discharging drainage into the railway ditch from Grey, Ferguson, and Bowen streets. It was resolved to reply stating that the Council had already acquired the right to drain into the ditch referred to in the letter, A letter having been received from the Pcninsuia Road Board stating that they repudiated any claim in connection with the widening of the Anderson Bay road, consideration of the same was deferred.—The Inspector of Works reported that the Tramway Company had fenced in the Victoria road near Tflhuna Park, It was resolved to request the company to remove the obstruction within forty-eight hours, or the Council would do so. West Hakbok.— I The meeting of the Council on Tuesday night was attended by the Mayor and Crs Bell, M'Millun, JHarrold, C. W. George, C. E. George, Bolton, Bain, and Albury.—The Works Committee recommended that Mrs Reeve be informed that the Council had done all that they were entitled to do in reference to her complaint; and that the culvert in Junction road be opened. They also recommended that Mr His be informed that the Council are willing to make s. footpath as far as his gate if he would be at tim expense of providing and putting on screenings. —Cr Bell was elected a member of the Finance Committee.—A deputation was appointed to wait on Mr Weldon in reference to the reinstatement of a resident policeman for the borough, as an uneasy feeling existed in the borough.
