The peaceful assurances expressed by Prince Lobanoff, Russian Ambassador to the Austrian Government, have not had a convincing effect. A heavy fall of snow has taken place in Galicia.

The leading journals admit that Russia has massed 500,000 infantry, 25,000 cavalry, and SOO guns on the Austrian frontier.
