THE LAND BOARD.

The meeting this morning was attended by the Chief Commissioner and Messrs Logan, Clark, Duncan, and Dallas. James Philip and other settlers in Donback and Stoneburn districts wrote with the view of obtaining grazing right over blocks. 6, 8, and 9, Dunback.—Consideration was deferred for a week.

M. C. Orbell's application to surrender run' No. 171 a, as he is unable to pay 'the/ present rental, was referred to the government fbr consideration. Mr M. J. S. Mackenzie wrote with reference to a petition received from settlers at Gimmerburn asking for the grazing right over blocks 4 and 6, Gimmerburn, and asking why the grazing rights over sections 29, 33, and 40 have not been included with the others in the block.—lt was. resolved, tpi inform Mr Mackenzie that the sections, referred to have been taken up on deferredpayments. The lease held by T. Spain was declared, forfeited for non-payment of rent. It was decided that the valuation for improvements effected by Alexander Spark and Elizabeth Beggs on section 18, block SJ, Table Hill, and 3, block 1, Wendonside, be reduced 25 per' cent, and the Iftnda I*offered.

William TremainHl application for section ' 9, block 8., Qtarpa, as rural land qn deferred payment, was granted. Samuel Ritchie applied for section $, block East Gore, and Thomas Carmody for section 5, block ?5, East Gore, a& suburban land on deferred payment-? licenses were ordered to issue. " Capitalisation was authorised in the cases of T;mo.thy Shine, section g, Mary Shine, Section 8. and Cornelias Shine, section JQ, block 8, i^uraw. The Board approved of <James Suther-. land's application to exchange his agricultural lease of section 30, block 6, Table Hill, for a deferred-payment license. Robert Q'Neil asked permission to retain perpetual-lease section 1, block 2, Strath Taieri district, at a reduced rental of 2ja per acre.—Land to, he re-offered at a capjtaj yalue of L$ IGs an acre. John Sloan asked to he allowed to. the 31st December to pay up arrears of install ments on section 17, block 3, Foolburn, and. complete purchase of section 18 of that block on deferred of this matter was adjourned.
