A deputation from the Farmers' Conference waited on Premier Gpljes yesterday, and asked that a duty of 25 per cent, be imposed upon all stock imported into the Colony; that 3s duty be put upon all imported barley, wheat, oats, peas, and lb on butter, pheese, and hams. Premier Gillies, in promising to lay the views of the Conference before his colleagues, eaid that Government had already promised to submit to Parliament next session a proposal for a revision of the existing Tariff by which the .hjttereots of the farmers would receive serious cous'ieratiofl. ' ' POSTAL CONFERENCE, MELBOURNE, November 4. There is every probability of the Conference to be held in London on Wednesday between the Agents-General and the Chancellor of the Exchequer and PostmasterGeneral resulting in ft final settlement of the dispute.
