HORTICULTURAL.

TO THK EDITOR. Sin,—l note in your columns that a proposal is alloat to form a new Horticultural Society. I think the word new should b; left out. The present Society is only a show one, and restrictive at that; and I think every true lover of horticulture will be glid if a society can be foimcd and maintained which would be entitled to claim the name of really a Horticultural Society. I hope loveis of bo'any (female as well as male) amateurs, gaideners, as well as all lovers of flowers, fruit, and vegetables, will attend the proposed meeting and give such a worthy movement their intelligent support—l am, etc., Amateur.
