The delivery of the Treasurer’s Budget Statement is deferred until Wednesday next.
It is announced that a considerable increase lias been shown in the revenue during the past three weeks.
SIR J. VOGEL’S CABLE SCHEME. MELBOURNE, March 23. (Received March 23, 1887, ntl.3op.ni.) The ‘ Age,’ discussing Sir J. Vogel’s scheme of a Pacific cable service, says it has many patent obstacles; that it doubts whether the public will obtain much advantage by cables being in the hands of Government officials. •
