His Worship the Mayor has banded us for publication the following communication from the Lord Mayor of London : Mansion House, Loudon, E.C. December 13, 1877. Drab Mr Mayor,— I have the honor to acknowledge tbo receipt of your letter ct ohe 18th of October, and t ernnot a lo v t e opportunity thus affoided me to without txpre-sing to you and your committee, and through to the subscribers, the very warmest thanks of the Mansion House Committee and myself for iue gtne -oua aid rendered by the people of Dunedin to the Ii dian Famine Relief Fund. The donations from New Zea’and have been very large, and some have been contributed by aboriginal natives of the Colony. The good feeling thus shown will, I am sure, be most sincerely reciprocated, not only by the people of India, but by those at Home.
