OTAGO RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

The fourteenth annual meeting in connection with the above was commenced this morning. The firat match was fired in two squads—the first at 5 a.m. and second at 11. There were only three targets, and as upwards of ninety men fired the match was not concluded till three o’clock this afternoon. A perfect gale of wind blew all day right across the range. Appended are the scores of the prize-takers : Fibst Match.— 2oo, 400, 500, and 600 yards; five shots at each range ; any position ; Wimbledon targets 1873. First prize, presented by Messrs Sargood, Son, and Eweu, clock, value Ll3 13s; second prize, by P. Hayman and Ce., wateh, value LlO and L2 cast; third prize, pair of glass vases, by Mathesou Brothers, value L'i 10s and L 3; fourth prize, 15; fifth prize. Ll; sixth prize, L 3 ; seventh prize, L2 eighth prize, Ll; ninth prize, Ll; tenth prize, Ll.

The second match cannot possibly b; concluded to night. At its commencement rain began to fall. The Shield Match will be taken at 1 o’clock on Saturday afternoon.
