PROVIDES MORE FOOD

END OF PRICE CONTROL IN

GREECE

ATHENS, September 8.

The critical food shortage has eased considerably as a result of the Government's lifting price control and restrictions on trading in food supplies. Prices, however, have soared by from 30 to 50 per cent. Official circles here hope that needs will be met within a week and that prices will drop accordingly.

A strike which has . already involved miners, bakers, mechanics, textile, electricity, and a number of transport workers has spread to the Athens tramwaymen and the Piraeus flourmillers.

The Allies have handed over to the Government Constantine . Logathetopoulos, Greek Premier in 1942-43, and other alleged Greek quislings who took refuge in Germany.
