ARCTIC NAVAL BASES
BEING CLOSED DOWN
LONDON, September 8. The Royal Navy is closing down the bases which were established at Murmansk and Archangel to handle convoys on the northern life-line says Ren'.er's Moscow correspondent. This ends one of the most heroic chapters of the war. Four milljon tons of supplies for 'Russia passed through these ports, of which 2.000.000 tons was brought in between January, 1944. and VF, Day.
