(Special to "The Post.") WANGANUI, This Day. Most of the work at Wanganui today was confined to short sprints. The weather was fine, but the track was a trifle holding. Merciful went three furlongs, the last two in 25 l-ssec. It was a good effort as he was wide out. Lord Coronach finished clear of Paganini and Leybourne at the end of three-furlongs in 37 l-ssec. Leybourne refused to stop until he had covered] another round. ' Rhodes was two lengths clear of | Well Armed and Hulabaloo at Jhe end of five furlongs in 1.6. Master Ted, looking in great fettle, put in a round at half-pace, and then ran half a mile in 51 4-ssec-

Lily Ann beat Vive La Veera by two lengths over three furlongs in 37£ sec. Pay Acre slipped over the same distance in 38sec.

Derryogue, with a light boy up. sprinted half a mile in 49 4-ssec. She will be ridden by T. Martinovitch in the Flying Handicap. Queen's Knight went the last three furlongs of a circuit in 39sec. . She is engaged on the second day.

Royal Heir ran five furlongs comfortably in 1.4J-. Lord Theio went half a mile in 54sec, going well within himself. Roto Parera and Magnus Lux were associated over six furlongs, which occupied 1.16 2-5, the first three in 38sec. The latter went particularly well.

Treasure Tee and Royal Greek registered 1.3 for five furlongs, the latter doing it a shade the better. White Cap slipped over half a mile in 50Jsec, hitting out well. Enard Bay pleased by sprinting two furlongs in 24|sec. She is not without prospects in the Debutant Stakes. D. Marks arrived from Fordell this morning with Kuri and Tumere. The latter is not engaged until the second day. Spirit is amiss and will not be seen out at the meeting. Other arrivals include Julius Caesar, Rosswood. Gigli, Provider, Opulent. Tara King, Lastik, Daljarrock, Flahuluk, Cramond Bay, Lord Darnley, Dark Morning; Golden Kea, Poutatau. Matador, and Sporting Way.
