RISE IN PRODUCTION

Rec. 9 a.m. WASHINGTON, Aug. 31. The United States is speeding the change-over to peace. The chairman of the War Production Board, Commander Krug, stated that the production rate of peacetime manufacturing interests by the end of the year would be 12 per cent, higher in dollar value than in the pre-war' years of 1939-41. In the week ended August 25, 500,000 men filed claims for unemployment pay.
